Thermojet espresso machine not heating fast enough, producing temperature spikes, or thermojet unit leaking? Thermojet (also called thermoblock or flow-through heater) machines heat water on demand in seconds — but scale and electrical faults can quickly compromise performance. Our Luthuli Avenue technicians repair and replace thermojet units for all major brands.

Thermojet Faults We Diagnose
- Slow warm-up (longer than 30 seconds) — scaled thermojet channels reducing heat transfer, or partially failed heating element.
- Temperature spiking / burning coffee — failed NTC temperature sensor giving wrong feedback to control PCB.
- Thermojet leaking externally — cracked aluminium or stainless thermojet body, or failed inlet/outlet seals.
- Machine cutting out mid-brew — thermal cutout tripping due to excessive scale buildup causing overheating.
- No water flow through thermojet — complete scale blockage in thermojet channels requiring replacement.
- Machine requires multiple presses to start brewing — failing pressure switch or partially blocked pre-infusion valve.
Our Thermojet Repair Services
Heavily scaled thermojet units are often beyond chemical descaling and require replacement. We supply and fit compatible thermojet assemblies for Delonghi, Philips/Saeco, Krups, and other brands. Mildly scaled units are descaled with a food-safe acid flush cycle.
Brands: Delonghi (EC series, Dedica), Philips Saeco Xelsis/GranBaristo, Krups Vertuo, Breville Barista Touch, Jura E6/E8 (thermojet variants), ECM Puristika.
