Pump Espresso Machine Faults
- Loud vibration / rattling during brew — cavitating vibratory pump, loose pump mounting, or pump running dry due to air lock.
- Pump running but no water flow — blocked inlet filter, failed check valve, or pump diaphragm cracked.
- Low pressure (under 7 bar) — worn vibratory pump, OPV set too low, or partially scaled boiler reducing flow.
- Over-pressure (above 10 bar) — OPV spring seized or OPV seat partially blocked forcing pressure up.
- Pump cycling on and off during shot — thermoblock overheating causing thermal cutout to trip repeatedly.
- Rotary pump leaking from shaft seal — worn mechanical shaft seal on commercial rotary pumps.
